I have so many wonderful memories of Anita. As her niece I spent family gatherings at Anita and Sterling’s farm-surrounded with Anita’s creative gardens and Sterling’s diverse farm animals! In older years, we were members of the Red Hat Society. We shared numerous fancy luncheons and day trips together! Today is my 74th birthday so today while I celebrate my life, I also celebrate and honor the life of Anita.

Happy Birthday, Mom. You are still present in my thoughts and even in my dreams. You were 82 when you passed away, and Mary, my birth mother, just passed away this February at 83. Thanks to you for the values you instilled, and thanks to Mary for the genes. :)

It's hard to believe it has been five years. Linda & Karen worked on the landscaping at our new house the last couple of days, and we always think of you whenever we are working with plants and flowers. Missing you as another year ends.

Although I only knew Anita for a little over a year we quickly became friends and good neighbors. Mike & I truly enjoyed her quick wit & laughter. I will miss seeing her in her yard exchanging garden talk and whatever else was the topic of the day. Rest in Peace Anita, we will always be thinking of you.

I met Anita in WW. We always sat together and discussed our families. She was very proud of everyone in her family. Talked about you all in such good ways! I moved to FL in 2010....but have always remembered her as such a sweet lady and would keep up with her on FB. Yes, no more pain for her.....I know she will be dearly missed.

Altho we never met, I have admired your son Howard and his wife Linda for many years. As an RVer, I am often asked and freely share their site with RV Dreamers. Their ethics and caring for the RV community comes from a deep place. Thanks for being such a great inspiration to so many.

Anita, Friend and member of Regina's "Regal Ladies:, Red Hatter Group will be missed. Her chosen name was Princess Floral Goddess. Mary Jo Payne and I will miss you and Sterling at all of our "celebrations" at St. Mary's Center. It was always a treat coming to your house listening to your vast knowledge of flowers that graced the yard and many birds that visited and stayed near your home. We never left without visiting inside your quaint warm home enjoying memories of the past, Ruby's old time songs, delicious treats and never did we leave without Sterling's many vegetables from his beautiful garden. Your last words to me "I'm ready for HIM to come" and left me with a smile of understanding and hope.
Rest in peace "Floral Goddess"
Fond memories,
Sr. Regina Bevelacqua "Queen Mum"

Anita was also a proud member of the  Red Hat Group "Regina's Regal Ladies". I love her as an aunt and friend.   Mary Jo Payne

My Aunt Nita took care of me when I was about two years old until about the time I went to Kindergarten. We were both out in California at that time. This was before Howie was born. My dad would drop me off before work and come get me after work. She made me a barbie doll birthday cake once. A few years ago I said to her: "You got me through", and she leaned over and said, "no, you got me through." My dad was her little brother who just loved to tease her. He used to tell a story about finding her "love letters". He would have been about 14 or 15 and she would have been 16 or 17. He took these "love letters" up on top of the roof where workers were working on the roof and started reading them to everyone. Of course, she was embarrassed. How awful of him! (He also did mention that his dad warmed his behind for this.) I mentioned this to her a few weeks ago and she was still very irritated about this incident. So, they are together now as they are with the rest of the family. She told me she didn't want to bury another family member. She lived a long life and was loved by everyone. I miss her already. She did tell me in the last weeks that we will meet again. God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around you and whispered come with me.
With tearful eyes we watched you slowly fade away
although we loved you dearly we would not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best.

Our deepest sympathy to you and your family
You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Howard, take comfort in the fact that she will be there to greet you when the time comes.

Rejoice! For she has inherited the Kingdom of God!

I passed your house 1,000 times and never dreamed of stopping until I saw your sign for “free” flowers. After that day, my life has never been the same. God put you in my life for a reason and I will always be grateful. You brought me and my family LOTS of joy and laughter.

To have a friend with all your knowledge of flowers was truly amazing. Spending time and having fun with you is something that I will always treasure. I will remember all the good times that we had laughing while playing cards, going to yard sales and out to eat. My heart aches so much knowing that I don’t have you to talk to now. God gave me a great friend when he put you in my life.

Thank you for being a part of Alex’s and Patrick’s lives. They both loved you dearly.

Benny will miss his “partner” and will always remember you when he hears a bell being rung. But remember that you will always be my BFF. I love you, Anita. I bet you are already planting flowers in Heaven!
